Needle Felting Course with Fiona Doney
Available spots
Service Description
Needle felting is the art of poking a long barbed needle into felting wool to create shape. It can be used to create anything and as experience and creativity increase, so can the complexity of what you make! I will take you through the basic shape making techniques of needle felting through to creating your own design. We will start off with simple mushrooms and pumpkins, through to more fiddly squirrels and foxes. Needles, finger guards and wool will be supplied, as will plasters! Join for one session or all three and learn further skills as you go. Beginners and more experienced welcome to all sessions! Session 1 In this session we will start with basic shape making. Start with a mushroom (fly agaric) and go on to a mini pumpkin. If time allows, feel free to experiment! Session 2 Moving on to creating features such as eyes, we will make a fox or squirrel this session. Learn to use fine strips of felting wool to add character and a touch of the lifelike! Session 3 Got a design in mind? Let me help you achieve it! If not, we’ll make a cup of tea and a saucer! A biscuit will be a lovely touch if you have the time!
