Learn to crochet or build your skills in these relaxed 2-hour sessions. From basic stitches to creating hats, bags, cardigans, flowers, hearts and butterflies, you'll learn techniques, follow patterns, and develop the confidence to create your own designs. Suitable for ages 10+ Session 1 For the very beginner, learn the basic crochet steps, choosing wool and the correct hooks. You will learn a slip knot, single, half double, double, triple and slip stitches that form the basis of all crochet designs. This will prepare you for the following workshops. If you are a little more experienced, we will add to your current repertoire with new stitches, and ways of putting them together in a mindful crochet session. Session 2 Make a granny square! From bags, to hats, to cardigans and tops, the granny square is one of the most versatile techniques. We will explore different colour combinations, stitches and ways in which to move from one colour to another, as well as joining squares together. At the end of this session you will have begun a blanket, top, or funky outdoor table setting! The granny square is limited only by your imagination! Session 3 - Let's get ready for circle crochet! In this session you will learn how to create flat circles for boho table mats and coasters, and shaped circles for summer and winter hats and beanies. From cloche hats to sunhats, slouch beanies to berets, table runners to floor mats, these are only a few ways in which you can use circles to create stylish items for the home and clothing! Session 4 Finally, let's explore shapes! Butterflies, hearts, leaves, flowers through to stuffed toys, you can make a variety of different funky decorations with crochet. From a child's mobile to a doorstop, crochet jewellery to incorporating these elements into granny squares or within clothing, learning just a couple of different design techniques takes your item from wow! to WOW!
